Forty-five years behind the camera.
Portraits, reportage and commercial commissions produced in Australia, Singapore and New York — with work published internationally and held in the permanent collection of the Australian National Portrait Gallery.
Photography, for me, is the discovery of the unexpected.
“Finding the jewel in the everyday.”
As a photojournalist and commercial photographer, Peter Fisher has brought the same passion and discipline to a family portrait as he has to assignments for Time, Newsweek, Coca-Cola, HSBC, Qantas and Penfolds. That standard hasn't changed in 45 years.
For more than four decades he has photographed politicians, artists, business leaders, children and everyday Australians with the same measured approach — observation before intervention, and photographs that hold their attention long after the moment has passed.
He lives in Adelaide with his wife, the artist Pelle Fisher.
